Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Orvix Aero for using the Orvix Aero app on iPhone, the web and Windows, and orvixaero.com, and our companion apps Orvix Family and Orvix Cabin. By creating an account or using any of these apps you agree to them. Everything below applies to all three apps; the Orvix Family and Orvix Cabin sections add the rules that are specific to those apps. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

A planning aid, not an operational tool

Orvix Aero helps you keep your logbook and plan your flying. It is not approved for flight operations and doesn’t replace your airline’s or operator’s systems, your dispatch release, official weather and NOTAM sources, the regulations, or your own judgment. FAR 117, currency, rest, pay and drive-time figures are estimates from the information you give it and can be wrong or out of date. Always check them against official sources before you rely on them.

Your logbook is your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of your logbook and of every entry, including entries Orvix Aero suggests from detection, imports, scans or schedules. Nothing is added to your logbook until you confirm it. Check each figure before you use it for a certificate, rating, application or any official purpose.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Your logbook and the content you add belong to you. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Orvix Aero for you. You can export it or delete your account at any time in the app.
• Don’t misuse Orvix Aero: no attempts to access other people’s data, disrupt the service, scrape it, or use it to break the law or your employer’s rules on confidential information.

Subscriptions

• Some features need a paid subscription. Prices and plans are shown before you buy.
• On the iPhone, payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
• On the web and Windows, payment is taken by our payment processor, Stripe, and renews automatically until you cancel in Settings → Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• One subscription works on all your devices when you sign in with the same Orvix Aero account.
• We may change prices for future periods; we’ll tell you before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

Information from other sources

Weather, flight status, gates, airport, aircraft registration and Known Crewmember information comes from third parties and public sources. It may be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and we can’t guarantee it.

Orvix Family

Orvix Family lets the people at home follow a pilot who uses Orvix Aero.

• Invite only. You join a family with an invite code from the pilot. The pilot chooses who joins and how much each person sees, and can pause sharing or remove anyone at any time. If you’re removed, you stop seeing that pilot’s information.
• For following along, not for official use. Flight positions, landing times, delays and alerts come from third parties and estimates. They can be late, missing or wrong. Check with the airline before you rely on a time, for example to leave for the airport.
• Pickups and location. Your location is used only while you’re on your way to pick someone up, after you tap “I’m on my way,” and it stops when you tap “Got them,” close directions, or after three hours. Drive safely and follow traffic laws; don’t use the app while driving.
• Chat and photos. Be respectful. Don’t post anything illegal, hateful or harassing, or share photos you don’t have the right to share. Anyone in a family can report a message, and we may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
• Kids. Children use Orvix Family in kids’ mode, set up and supervised by a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for them.
• Price. Orvix Family is free and has no ads. Live flights, landing alerts and pickups need the pilot’s Orvix Aero Pro subscription.

Orvix Cabin

Orvix Cabin is the trip app for flight attendants. It shares accounts with Orvix Aero.

• A planning aid. Duty and rest under the FAA flight attendant rules (14 CFR 121.467), pay estimates, commute suggestions and trip alerts are estimates from the information you give it. They don’t replace your airline’s systems, your contract or the regulations. Check them before you rely on them.
• Crew tips. Layover tips you share are public to other Orvix Cabin users. Share public places only, and nothing about other people. By sharing a tip you let us show it in the app. Tips can be reported and are hidden automatically after three reports, and we may remove any tip.
• Crashpads. Crashpad details are shared only with the people you add. You’re responsible for what you share and with whom.
• No airline-internal data. Orvix Cabin doesn’t show seat loads, standby lists or crew lists, and you agree not to use it to share your airline’s confidential information.
• Subscriptions. Orvix Cabin Pro is sold monthly or yearly. The Subscriptions section above applies: payment, automatic renewal, cancelling and refunds work the same way as for Orvix Aero. An active Orvix Aero subscription also unlocks Orvix Cabin.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Orvix Aero, so features may change. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may update these terms; if a change is significant we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies.

No warranty; limits on liability

Orvix Aero is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Orvix Aero isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions made using the app, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Apple

If you use Orvix Aero, Orvix Family or Orvix Cabin on an Apple device, these terms are between you and Orvix Aero, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and isn’t responsible for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
